Phyllis Josephine Hyrup, 86, of Parachute Colorado. Passed away September 29, 2019. She was born on July 12, 1933 to Adelbert and Thelma (Hotz) Bowles. Phyllis grew up at Woods Lake and the Diamond J Ranch on the Frying Pan River. She graduated from Basalt High School. Following high school she married John V. Hyrup and together they raised four children, Steve Hyrup, Cindy Rose, Kandi Brownson and Kent Hyrup. Phyllis ran a mail route up the frying pan road and was an owner and helped operate Hyrup Construction with her husband until retirement. Upon retirement John and Phyllis bought a ranch outside of Parachute. John and Phyllis worked the ranch together until John’s passing in 2006. After Johns Passing Phyllis spent her remaining years at her home in Battlement Mesa. She was preceded in death by her husband John, Parents, and Brother Allen Bowles. She is survived by her 4 children, Brother Arthur Bowles, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Farnum Holt Funeral Home Chapel.
